Jimmie Schramm, a native of Dallas, Texas, began her relationship with horses at a young age. She competed locally in USEA Area V with much success and was ranked the nation’s top Preliminary Rider in 2004 and 2005. After graduating from high school, Jimmie was accepted to Auburn University in Alabama and continued competing as a full-time student.
She began a four-year stint working for international event riders, Mike and Emma Winter, and continued to campaign her upper-level horse, Best Blend, while pursuing her degree. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in English in 2009.
After purchasing the talented upper-level horse Bellamy, Jimmie relocated to California to begin working with Tamie Smith. In 2012, Jimmie and Bellamy won the Red Hills CIC* and ended the season with a strong finish at the Fair Hill International CCI2*. In 2013, Jimmie and Bellamy successfully moved up to the Advanced level. In 2014, Jimmie and Bellamy achieved a qualifying score at the Bromont CCI3*, which led to her lifelong dream of competing at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event in 2015.
Following Bellamy’s retirement from the Advanced level in 2017, Jimmie is continuing her journey back up the levels with some very special young horses. Her goals of representing her country and getting back to the CCI4* level continue to drive her every day.
